Liber ONTHOglyphic of Flow - Volume I
A Book Beyond Language
- Hand-bound artist’s book, 2024–ongoing-
Liber ONTHOglyphic of Flow — Volume I is an original, hand-bound artist’s book conceived and created by Blanka Blinx Križ in 2024. Comprising 166 pages, it is an ongoing artistic work and the first volume dedicated to her self-created visual language, Ontoglyphic Writing.
The book brings together original Ontoglyphs, handwritten poetry, manifestos, and intricate visual compositions. Each page forms part of an expanding artistic universe, where writing and image coexist beyond the conventions of traditional language.
More than a collection of individual works, the Liber exists as an independent artistic object — a singular manuscript in which an invented form of writing finds a lasting home.

Where Silence Becomes a Living Script
Within Liber ONTHOglyphic of Flow — Volume I, Ontoglyphic Writing unfolds as an exploration of sound, movement, and meditative presence. The manuscript brings together spontaneous visual gestures, written reflections, and the artist’s evolving investigation into the nature of the sign.
Music acts as a generative force. Through focused presence, the artist responds to rhythm, vibration, and inner perception, allowing individual Ontoglyphs to emerge in a single continuous gesture. Neither the forms nor their overall arrangement are planned in advance.
Influenced by Zen awareness and the gestural principles of Japanese Shōdō, the process approaches creation as an act of presence rather than representation. The resulting marks occupy a space between writing and image, remaining open to recognition and individual interpretation.
The manuscript does not follow a fixed chronological sequence. Its pages are approached intuitively, with each completed composition preserving the circumstances of its creation. Once a page is finished, the artist does not return to alter it.
Through this process, the book develops as an ongoing dialogue between the artist, the material, and the experience from which each form emerges.

Why the Book Bears Another Name
Ontoglyphic Writing is the name of Blanka Blinx Križ’s original artistic practice. The word brings together onto, referring to being or existence, and glyph, an inscribed sign. Within the artist’s own interpretation, their union becomes “the engraving of being” — a visual trace of existence expressed beyond conventional language.
The book, however, bears a deliberately different title: Liber ONTHOglyphic of Flow — Volume I. The additional H is neither accidental nor merely decorative. It introduces an archaic, almost hermetic resonance and carries a symbolic distinction within the artist’s invented language. ONTHO evokes primordial breath and source resonance — the unseen origin from which form emerges — while ONTO represents being made visible through movement and gesture.
The two names do not describe separate artistic practices, but interconnected dimensions of the same creative universe. Ontoglyphic Writing names the living artistic practice; Liber ONTHOglyphic of Flow names the singular artist’s book in which its visual signs, handwritten texts, and symbolic structures come together to form a world with an identity of its own.
"The book becomes its own civilization, its own language, its own myth."

Where Numbers Become Breaths
Within Liber ONTHOglyphic of Flow — Volume I, numbers are given a new role through an original system of signs, names, and symbolic relationships. Developed and documented within the manuscript, Liber Numerum — Codex of Breaths establishes an internal order that extends beyond conventional page numbering. As the artist writes, the Codex measures not time, but the rhythm of Ontoglyphica of Flow Breath.
Each number from 0 to 10 has its own graphic sign, poetic name, and distinctive letter designation. Zero is named First Pra-Breath (ORH), one becomes The Singular Sign (AHN), and two becomes Dual Echo (VAHR). The sequence continues through Third Silence, Fourth World, Fifth Ontoglyph, Sixth Circle, Seventh Sound, Eight Gate, Ninth Mystery, and Tenth Flame.
These interconnected elements form the foundation of a symbolic vocabulary in which numbers acquire identities beyond their conventional numerical values.

From Number to Relation
Combinations, Meaning and Hidden Structures
The Codex develops further through a deliberate process of combining numbers and their established names.
For example, 23 becomes Dual Echo of Third Silence, bringing together the identities of two and three. Larger numbers follow the same principle of combining constituent elements: the number 100, for instance, is constructed from one and two zeros. Importantly, zero and ten remain distinct numbers within the system, identified as First Pra-Breath and Tenth Flame. Their roles and relationships are explored through the artist’s handwritten examples and reflections in Codex Insights.
These combinations reveal that the system is not merely a collection of invented names, but a considered structure of recurring signs and relationships.

The Names Live Within the Work

My Manifest about Returning to Flow
Folow the Flow that knows no time.
Feel the Vibration Flowing through lines and symbols.
Pause, if you wish and return.
Pull the Flow Towords Yourself.
The Codex gives each page a name. Through poetry, that name becomes part of a world beyond words.

Sixth Circle of Circle
Page from Liber ONTHOglyphic of Flow — Volume I
Within Liber ONTHOglyphic of Flow — Volume I, the Codex does not remain a separate system of classification. The names assigned to numbers continue their life within the manuscript itself, entering poems, manifestos, and visual compositions. In this way, the internal order of the book extends into its artistic language.
What begins as a structure of signs, names, and relations becomes a field of expression. Terms such as Sixth Circle no longer function only as page designations; they reappear as living elements within the written and visual world of the Liber. On the manuscript page SENN — Sixth Circle, the designation at the foot of the page also brings together Sixth Circle, First Pra-Breath, and Tenth Flame. This visible combination reveals how the Codex’s naming system extends into the individual pages of the book, connecting their identities with the poems and manifestos they contain. The Codex therefore connects numbering, writing, and image into a single unfolding whole.
Alongside the poems, the manuscript contains personal artistic manifestos — spontaneous reflections on flow, presence, movement, and the experience of creation. While the poems often emerge in connection with the forms, sensations, and atmosphere of individual Ontoglyphs, the manifestos give voice to the artist’s thoughts and reflections on her evolving practice. Both arise naturally within the creative process, becoming part of the book’s written world rather than existing as separate explanations of its visual language.
Within the Sixth Circle of Circle,
The path folds into its own beginning.
Each motion remembers the first breath,
and the flame of return burns quietly-round
within round, without end.
05 - Written Universe
Written Universe
Language Written Beyond Words
Within Liber ONTHOglyphic of Flow — Volume I, a visual universe unfolds through forms that are neither imagined in advance nor deliberately composed. For the artist, music carries an unseen dimension — as though the tones themselves hold the possibility of another existence, one that can be seen rather than heard. As the brush touches the paper, these possibilities begin to reveal themselves through movement, without conscious planning or anticipation of what will emerge.

Detail from the manuscript

Blanka experiences the resulting Ontoglyphs as musical notes taking visible form. Each possesses its own distinct identity, sometimes resembling a human figure, an animal, a flower, an unfamiliar creature, or an abstract mark that resists identification. No two are alike. They emerge one after another, while their arrangement and the composition as a whole develop spontaneously, without a predetermined design. What was once experienced through sound becomes a world of individual visual presences.

These forms are not illustrations of predefined characters, nor are they intended to communicate a single, fixed meaning. Although they originate in the artist’s intimate experience of music, their identities remain open to the perception of others. A figure that suggests one presence to the artist may evoke something entirely different in the viewer. In this encounter, the visual language of the Liber extends beyond its moment of creation, inviting each observer to discover a world of their own.
